Your first visit to Heritage Baptist Church will be refreshing, friendly, and enjoyable for your whole family. We want you to experience inspiring music, helpful teaching and preaching, friendly people, and a place where you feel welcome and "at home!"

We encourage you to start out with our main worship service on Sunday mornings at 10am, but we also have several services throughout the week designed to strengthen your spiritual growth. If you are interested in learning what our church is all about,  click here  to find out about a New Foundations class.

Our campus is nestled in between a commercial and residential area of San Leandro, California. We have plenty of parking, but we encourage you to arrive at least 10-15 minutes before the start of your chosen service in order to have time to find us and find a seat.

If you arrive with children, we have a great class for them. From infants to 6th graders, each child will receive a unique Bible lesson consistent with their age. We have loving nursery and children's workers that are expertly trained to teach and care for your children while you enjoy the main service.

Whether you have attended church your whole life or never stepped foot in one before, we know it's not easy visiting a church for the first time. You are not quite sure what to expect. You probably have a lot of questions. What does a weekend service look like? How should I dress? What are the messages like? What's your music like?

Q: How should I dress?

Heritage is a "come as you are" church. We want you to feel comfortable. After all, we are thrilled that you are joining us and we want you to be more focused on Who you are worshiping than what you are wearing. There is not a dress code at Heritage Baptist Church for members or guests. Some people put on their "Sunday best" while others prefer to dress casual, and that's fine too! We think you'll fit in no matter how you dress.

Q: What are the messages like?

The most important thing we could say is, we aim to teach the Bible in a way that is engaging, understandable, and applicable. Transformation is inseparable from application, so you will find the teaching here always ends in "how does this truth challenge, encourage, or guide me right where I am?" Most messages are biblical exposition; that is, a verse-by-verse study of God's Word, a "balanced diet" of the whole counsel of God. In addition, our focus is on God's Word, not the preacher.

Q: What about the music?

Music and singing is just one of the many ways that we worship. We want to honor God in everything we do, and that includes our music. We strive to uplift the name of Christ without compromising ourselves by seeking a "secular" feel. That being said, at Heritage Baptist, we sing original songs, historic hymns, and many new arrangements.

Q: Will I be asked to give money?

No. If you are a guest, please do not feel any obligation to give. We want our services to be a gift to you. We believe giving is an act of worship for those who have a personal relationship with God through Christ.
